What’s the Future of Transportation in Guelph?

June 20, 2019 | by TCAT | Photo: City of Guelph

The City of Guelph is developing a new transportation master plan that will shape how people move around the city for years to come. To kickstart a community discussion, on June 5th the City hosted a panel on the future of transportation. TCAT Director Nancy Smith Lea was a panelist and highlighted the importance of prioritizing walking and cycling in the plan, especially when designing new transit projects. “There’s consistently a missed opportunity when we have big transit projects. From the get-go what’s our walking and cycling plan for getting people to transit? It’s typically not what we do.” Check out a short video of the highlights.
