June is Bike Month, and that means activities have started at both of our Scarborough Cycles Bike Hubs. Our popular DIY Drop-In Bike Repair program has started at AccessPoint on Danforth and is available to residents every Thursday 4-7pm, and Saturdays from 10am-1pm (beginning July 1st). Scarborough Cycles will also be offering DIY Drop-In Bike Repair at Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre’s ‘Pop Up Good Food Market’ every other Wednesday, June to August.
This summer, Scarborough Cycles is again partnering with Bike Host, and is looking for volunteer mentors. Bike Host is a cycling mentorship program for immigrants and refugees, created by CultureLink Settlement and Community Services. This is the 7th year of the program, and as a mentor you will meet new people from around the world and have a terrific opportunity to hone your leadership and facilitation skills, while gaining experience with group riding and event planning. Share your love of cycling with newcomers to Canada!
