Patrick Brown & Albert Koehl

Co-recipients of TCAT’s 2012 Active Transportation Champion Award

At this year’s Bicycle Friendly Business Awards, TCAT presented our fourth annual Active Transportation Champion award to Patrick Brown and Albert Koehl.  Patrick is a founding member and board member of Cycle Toronto, an organizer of the Helmets for Kids program and a director of the Ontario Safety League. Albert is a key organizer of the annual Bells on Bloor ride, author of editorials in the Globe and Mail and other publications, and a director of the Annex Residents Association where he spearheaded a progressive bike policy. Both were nominated for their leadership in initiating the Chief Coroner of Ontario’s Cycling Death Review and Pedestrian Death Review and for serving on the expert panels.
