TCAT recently co-signed a letter with CycleTO and 8 80 Cities supporting efforts by the City of Toronto to expand winter mobility options and improve winter access to city parks and public spaces. The Supreme Court’s ruling making cities accountable for accidents related to snow clearing will hopefully lead to safer, more equitable streets.
TCAT and partners at the University of Toronto, McGill University, and Simon Fraser University, have conducted research on how to grow cycling communities in Canadian cities, and snow clearance of bike lanes and sidewalks is a key component of making active transportation accessible to everyone.
