Toronto Star: Bloor St. bike lanes open to fanfare

“City transportation staff emphasized on Friday how thorough and data-driven the evaluation will be. The city is partnering with Miovision, a Kitchener-based traffic data company, and the University of Toronto’s Transportation Research Institute, to capture and analyze pedestrian, cyclist, and motorist activity using sophisticated street-mounted cameras.

The Toronto Parking Authority is monitoring how the lanes affect parking activity, while the Toronto Centre for Active Transportation, the two local business improvement areas, and U of T are measuring the economic impact of the cycle tracks.”
