ParticipatoryPlanning.ca is blowing out its first candle! Launched last February, the site is a hub for the co-design movement in Canada. The platform is filled with resources and tools to support residents and professionals to carry out participatory planning projects in their communities. In a year, the portal’s co-design toolkit and publications, available in both official languages, had an impact all over Canada and beyond. As seen in the infographic below, in one year there have been 14,000 visitors to the site from 1,050 different locations (281 from Canadian municipalities and 769 from other cities worldwide). And we’re so proud that TCAT’s Complete Streets Game was the most downloaded tool!
Browse ParticipatoryPlanning.ca to discover an approach that has the potential to transform neighbourhoods through co-design. Become acquainted with our project and co-design approach, by perusing our publications, visit our participatory planning toolkit to access a library of facilitation guides and resources to engage citizens in your jurisdiction, and learn about our work in 12 Canadian communities by exploring our communities map.
In the coming year, new tools, publications and webinars on the topic of health equity in Canadian communities will be added to the site. ParticipatoryPlanning.ca is a flagship portal for Canadian professionals and decision-makers committed to building healthy and active cities.
