Are you interested in creating safer streets and more vibrant public spaces in your neighbourhood? Work with our team of experts to reimagine your neighbourhood!
TCAT’s ‘Active Neighbourhoods’ projects use participatory planning to reimagine local public spaces, namely our streets and sidewalks, and envision how we can better share this public space. With a more balanced and complete street, we can encourage more people to travel actively, enhance the safety of residents, foster stronger links between neighbours, and promote a sense of inclusion within the community. These projects leverage citizen knowledge and professional knowledge to build a vision for the future of the neighbourhood, identify and validate potential changes to the design of communities, and finally work towards implementing actions through a ‘Neighbourhood Plan” produced as the final product of the project.
TCAT is pleased to announce that we are opening our call for applications for the next two Ontario-based projects. We welcome applications from municipalities, non-profits, community groups, as well as collaborative partnerships between organizations. Head over to our website for more information on Active Neighbourhoods Canada, and to check out the first two projects happening in Thorncliffe Park & Flemingdon Park in Toronto, and in the Stewart St. Neighbourhood in Peterborough.
For more information on submitting an application, visit this link. The deadline for submissions is July 15th, 2015. If you have any questions, contact Project Managers Car Martin and Mikey Bennington at 416.393.6359 or via email here.
