The latest, and final, two videos from the It’s Your Move series are now online!
The 11th video features Nadien Godkewitsch, Manager of Programs at the Toronto Community Foundation (TCF). Nadien’s video highlights the community benefits of increased walking and cycling. With dedicated funding for active transportation infrastructure projects, we can multiply these community benefits and accelerate the pace of action towards improving quality of life throughout the region. As Ontario municipalities approach a fall election, her message for residents is to get informed on where municipal candidates stand when it comes to walking and cycling.
The 12th video features Jennifer Keesmaat, Chief Planner and the Executive Director of the City of Toronto’s Planning Department. With her TEDx talk titled “Walk to School” and numerous speaking engagements on the subject, Jennifer leads by example. Her story shows parents how she worked alongside her daughter to tackle the fear, planning and responsibility that encompasses our collective trepidation in encouraging children to walk to school. We’re proud to highlight Jennifer and her work in the final video, where she discusses the importance of infrastructure that allows children to walk safely to school, and the benefits of active transportation to the health of our city.
