On June 2nd, cities all across the world were bustling with 100In1Day activity. Joining this global movement to inspire citizens to enliven public spaces, TCAT and our partner GreenUP created a “Streets Re-imagined!” pop-up in Peterborough. Building on our ongoing participatory planning work in Peterborough, we used TCAT’s new Complete Streets Game to invite Peterborough residents to re-imagine their streets. We spent a beautiful and sunny Saturday morning co-designing a future with better transportation options for all.
We weren’t the only group inspired by the Complete Streets Game to host a 100in1Day intervention—our friends at Walk Toronto also hosted a Complete Streets Party at Dundas and Bathurst. In addition to the game, the Walk Toronto party included stencils of street sections that participants could spray chalk onto the sidewalk, re-imagining their streets in a creative and colourful way. If you missed out on these two 100in1Day pop-ups, you can still order a copy of the Complete Streets game to try out yourself. We only have 40 copies left, so order one before they’re sold out!
