On April 7, 2016, TCAT’s Active Neighbourhoods project team visited Haliburton Village to hold their third Professional Workshop. A key part of the Active Neighbourhoods participatory methodology, the workshop is an opportunity to share local research and engagement about the study area and to work with local experts towards a vision for improvements for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Haliburton project is focused on developing a Complete Streets vision for a stretch of County Road 21 that runs through the heart of the Village. The group developed a solid overall concept and some detailed proposals which our team will be working to flesh out and take back to the citizens for more discussion. The partner group is keen to work towards developing a design language that can respond to a rural environment.
