Active Neighbourhoods design workshop in Sudbury

On October 19th, 2016 TCAT’s Active Neighbourhoods team held a professional design workshop with staff from the City of Greater Subdury, local architects and community members from the Donovan neighbourhood. The design ideas brainstormed in this workshop focused on building from the momentum of work to improve Kathleen St. and Victory Park since the last community improvement plan was created for the Donovan. Ideas included creating a consistent visual identity for the neighbourhood through new bus shelters, more public art and ways to display neighbourhood history in public spaces. Other ideas highlighted potential strategies for improving Antwerp Park and increasing it’s accessibility and use for youth and families. TCAT will be summarizing all the ideas developed in this workshop so that we can continue to engage Donovan residents on the future of their neighbourhood. The goal of this project is to incorporate ideas and actions that reflect residents’ own desires within the upcoming revision of the neighbourhood improvement plan.
