New Bicycle Parking Designs on Queen Street West

The City of Toronto has been working towards a bicycle parking study. Throughout 2013, Transportation Services will increase bicycle parking on Queen Street West between Bathurst St. and Dufferin St. by approximately 30%. The new parking will include types of parking infrastructure that are new to Toronto, such as multi-bike racks and on-street corrals. The various types will be tested and evaluated, and lessons from this study will be used while planning future projects elsewhere in the city.

Public input is an important part of the study. A pre-installation survey has already been completed, with researchers interviewing cyclists on Queen St about their cycling experiences and habits, and the results are available online. Post-installation surveys will also be conducted in the coming months, as well as an online survey. For more information about the location and design of the new parking facilities, view the study information slides on the project website
