The Do-It-Yourself spirit is alive as citizens make their civic wishes come true. First it was bike lanes, roads, and, parks. A Better Block temporarily remakes a street into a walkable, vibrant neighborhood centre, aka a Complete Street. These pop-up projects demonstrate vast benefits from few resources and allow communities to initiate, test, and adapt complete streets over time. The success of some of the interventions has led to permanent changes in Memphis and Forth Worth.
