Ontario Active School Travel Webinar Recordings are now available

TCAT and Green Communities Canada organized a three-part webinar series exploring policies and programs that support active school travel in November and December 2022. We are happy to share that the recordings are now available.

Webinar 1 Recording: Policy Recommendations to Support Active School Travel in Ontario – This webinar shared key findings and actionable recommendations from the Evidence-based recommendations for policies to promote active transportation for school journeys report. We were joined by:

  • Emma Fabri, Human Environments Analysis Lab at Western University

Webinar 2 Recording: Traffic Calming and Active School Travel – This webinar explored Ontario-based case studies on how traffic calming measures have been harnessed to enhance and encourage active school travel on a municipal and regional scale. We were joined by:

  • Reena Mistry, York Region District School Board
  • Royce Bodaly, Councillor Ward 2 Northwest, City of Waterloo

Webinar 3 Recording:  Winter Snow Maintenance and Active School Travel – This webinar investigated winter snow maintenance and its critical role in supporting active school travel across the country. We were joined by:

  • Isla Tanaka, City of Edmonton
  • Bartek Komorowski, City of Montréal
