Engaging the Flemingdon & Thorncliffe Community about Cycling

July 20, 2017

TCAT was recently awarded a small contract by the City of Toronto to enhance resident engagement, capacity development, and outreach for the 2017 Bike Flemingdon Park and Thorncliffe Park Study. In partnership with the Flemingdon Health Centre, TCAT is tasked with hiring, training and coordinating a team of local Community Animators who will engage local residents in conversations about cycling and bike facilities, and gather feedback regarding planning bicycle routes in the area. Through extensive community engagement undertaken for the Active Neighbourhoods project in 2014-2015, TCAT gained invaluable experience in working in these unique and diverse tower neighbourhoods. We are excited that this new opportunity will leverage our previous work in the community and support the City’s efforts to engage citizens in conversations about how to improve cycling accessibility.
