Cycling can play a huge role in creating more sustainable cities. But how do cities support the shift to more trips by bike and ensure everyone gets to enjoy the ride?
On July 29th, 2021, TCAT was pleased to host a special webinar with two international experts on making cities better for people on bike: John Pucher and Ralph Buehler, co-editors and authors of the recent book Cycling for Sustainable Cities.
Dr. Pucher and Dr Buehler’s international comparative research on cycling has been, and continues to be, hugely influential and groundbreaking in establishing a knowledge base for understanding the uptake of cycling in different communities around the globe and in documenting what’s possible. The webinar covers a wide range of topics including why it’s so important to build our cities for cyclists, what are some best practices for doing so, and how to ensure cycling is safe, practical, and convenient for all ages and abilities.
