CVUP 115: Planning Active Transportation

March 10, 2018 | by TCAT | Photo: Ryerson University

Are you a community organizer, advocate, built environment, transportation or health professional interested in co-design and participatory techniques? Are you looking to re-imagine your streets or make your practice more equitable and responsive? Drawing on over four years of research and pilot projects across Ontario, TCAT’s Car Martin and Mikey Bennington will be teaching a seven-week course on Planning Active Transportation that will explore participatory design and community engagement practices that contribute to the built environment in terms of health equity and provide the basis for planning streets and public spaces.

Offered through Ryerson’s Chang School of Continuing Education, the course has been endorsed as a professional development opportunity by the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Ontario Association of Architects.

The course start date is March 22nd, ending May 3rd. Classes are every Thursday, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
