TCAT is pleased to announce that Ryan Whitney has accepted the new position of Complete Streets Research and Project Manager. His official start date is October 1st.
Ryan brings to TCAT a diverse set of policy, research and community-building skills and a comprehensive knowledge of active transportation and complete streets policies. A recent article he wrote titled “Why Complete Streets are the Answer” was published in “Mobility”, a South African magazine, and can be found here.
Ryan has recently worked to advance complete streets in Washington D.C., New York City, Tanzania, Tokyo, Thunder Bay and Montreal. He holds a MSC in Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies from Concordia University.
Over the next year, with funding from the Trillium Foundation, Ryan will conduct a comprehensive gap analysis of the potential for, or existence of, complete streets policies across Ontario. He will also create an online Complete Streets Policy and Design Hub to build capacity and expertise to advance complete streets.
We are thrilled to have found someone with such a wealth of experience to take on this important role. Please join us in welcoming Ryan to TCAT!
