Active Neighbourhood Plan: Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park, Toronto | May 2016

This neighbourhood plan was built through a collaborative, co-designed participatory planning process as a part of the Active Neighbourhoods Ontario pilot program.

Following our three-phase participatory planning approach, the Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park, Toronto Active Neighbourhoods project worked with residents to help build a citizen-led Neighbourhood Plan for that grounded in their own vision. On May 31st, 2016 we released this Neighbourhood Plan, which highlights three specific impact areas for improving local public spaces and streets to encourage active and healthy lifestyles:

  1. Improve access to the Don Valley Ravine and other green spaces
  2. Transform Overlea Blvd. into a Complete Street
  3. Animate spaces in between neighbourhood towers
