TCAT responds to proposed Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe

TCAT has submitted a response to the Ontario Government’s Proposed Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, released in May. The new Plan provides directives to municipalities to prioritize active transportation and to adopt a Complete Streets approach in the design of new roads and in the refurbishment of existing ones. If approved, this policy would make Ontario the first province in Canada to adopt Complete Streets and would signal a fundamental change in how we think about street design.

Visit our website to read TCAT’s full response, made jointly with Dr. Raktim Mitra, Ryerson University and Dr. Paul Hess, University of Toronto.

The comment period is open until October 31, 2016. Input on the proposed changes to this important land use plan is encouraged and can be made on-line here.
