MP Rob Oliphant (centre) with TCAT’s Active Neighbourhood team

On June 4th, 2016 TCAT’s Active Neighbourhoods project team celebrated the release of a citizen-led Neighbourhood Plan with members of the community, including MP Rob Oliphant. The Plan is the result of two years of community engagement and professional discussion that has a bold vision for streets and public space in Thorncliffe and Flemingdon Park. Throughout the engagement process, three main themes emerged:

To highlight the improvements needed in the ravine system, the team organized a pop-up ravine repair event that included DIY path repair, creating wayfinding signage, and installing a mural. The majority of the artwork was done by a group of local youth, some of whom were involved in the initial engagement activities.
