Ontario’s Budget Consultations: Opportunity for Investment in Active Transportation

The Ontario government is seeking ideas and priorities from the public before Feb 28, 2014 as they develop the 2014 provincial budget. This is an opportunity to make the case for investment in Ontario’s new Cycling Strategy and for walking and cycling infrastructure across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).

In September 2013, TCAT released The Other 25%: Active Transportation Investment and The Big Move, a comprehensive report exploring the current status of active transportation in the GTHA and providing recommendations for expediting progress. Today, TCAT is pleased to release an easily digestible graphical one-page summary that distills “The Other 25%” key findings and recommendations.

Before the Ontario Government tables its budget this spring, Ontarians have a chance to tell the province what matters to them; you can tweet, phone, or email your ideas. We hope you’ll join us in making the case for an investment in active transportation. Please visit our website for other related reports and resources:

And stay tuned for TCAT’s It’s Your Move Active Transportation Champions media campaign launching March 31st!
