New Benchmarking Report from the Alliance for Walking and Biking

The third biennial report from the Alliance for Walking and Biking, Bicycling and Walking in the U.S.: 2012 Benchmarking Report analyzes data on walking and cycling across the United States.  Covering demographics, safety, policies, infrastructure, education, activities, health indicators, and economic impact, the report features statistics, charts, and infographics that present powerful evidence for the importance of investing in people powered movement. For example: 1.6% of U.S. federal transportation funding goes to bikes and pedestrians who make up 12% of trips and 14% of traffic fatalities. The document is a must-read for all working to promote walking and biking.
