Toronto is facing a road safety crisis, with nearly 100 pedestrians and cyclists killed on its streets in the past two years. While the City of Toronto adopted its Vision Zero Road Safety Plan in 2017, enhancements to infrastructure, enforcement, and education have been slow. Without meaningful action on road safety, challenges will only worsen as the city faces unprecedented growth.
TCAT’s Director Nancy Smith Lea will be participating in the Ryerson City Building Institute’s upcoming meet-up, Toronto’s Streets at a Crossroads, an interactive panel discussion exploring solutions to enhance road safety in Toronto with experts, designers, policy makers, advocates and thought leaders, moderated by Steve Paikin of TVO’s The Agenda. Join us on September 5 at 6 PM for this free event at the Ryerson Student Learning Centre (341 Yonge Street). Act quickly! Registration is required.
