Spacing Reports on the Success of Pedestrian Zones

Just before the fall term began, we reported on the City’s plan to close streets on Ryerson and the University of Toronto campuses to create public squares on their campuses.

Last weekend, well into the school term, Dylan Reid of Spacing Magazine went to check out the new squares at the University of Toronto and reported his findings on Spacing.

Dylan’s article is a great read as it describes the partnership between the City and the universities, how the spaces differ in their infrastructure and services and how the spaces are being utilized.

Read the article on Spacing’s website.
